Manama: Hari Krishna Erranholi, had arrived in Bahrain in the year 2007 in search of livelihood.Like many expatriates, He too hoped for a better life by finding a job here that would put his vocational skills to use. He had mixed fortunes but still persevered, until, unfortunately, Glaucoma took a toll on him . Due to the complications from glaucoma, Hari lost his vision three years ago. In the meantime, his company cancelled his visa due to visual impairment.That was when He decided to return to India for good. However, as there were some payments financial obligations on his side, this process was delayed. This got to the point where Hari had to depend o his family in india financially. After two years of struggle,seeing no way out, Ihe approached the Indian Embassy for help in January 2021 this year, after which the officials intervened and arranged to send him back. On their advice, his brother had also booked a ticket for him .On February 11, even as he entered the airport to fly back, Hari was detained citing some travel bans owing to a few financial settlements and was put up in a temporary shelter provided by the Sikh community.From then on, thanks to the humanitarian gesture of some social activists and organizations like WORLD NRI COUNCIL , ICRF , PRAVASI LEGAL CELL resources pooled in and the payments required for lifting the travel ban were made. However, one Bahraini refused to remove the case against him for BD. 3700 even after the continued efforts taken by Sudheer Thirunilath , Humanitarian Director Middle East Region of World NRI Council and The County Head Of Pravasi Legal Cell . This meant that all 9 except one case was still pending to be closed.Pravasi Legal Cell approached the Court with the help of their Lawyer Tariq , requested the court to consider the mercy petition filed by them and the amount of BD. 1999/- to be paid at the court. On the other hand, The Embassy of India had an unsuccessful attempt in negotiating with the person that filed the case.Later, with the help of some businessmen and others, this amount was paid as well.Hari’s mother is 74 years old and suffering from a heart ailment. He has a wife and teenaged son eagerly awaiting his return. His family is under great stress due to the situation considering his visual impairment. With the help of The immigration Authorities, The Embassy of India , World NRI Council , Pravasi Legal Cell , ICRF , all these issues have been solved and his Immigration cleared with Hari returned by an Air India Flight to Calicut. His wife Mini and Son Bhageerath will received him at Calicut Airport. Mr Hari Krishna extended his gratitude to The Embassy of India , Bahrain Govt Authorities, PLC , All the kind hearted people who helped to settle the court charges , Mr . Sudheer Thirunilath who behind the case since last October onwards , The Sikh Community who arranged the stay for him , The ICRF Team who settled few cases , Mr Palani , Mr Subbair Kannur who supported him , The Management and Staff of SHIFA Al Jazeera Hospital for providing Free treatment for him , Mr Arun Govind Adv Tariq and all who helped him during the difficult time .
